SeniorCareAccess.com is a unique, one-of-kind website for Canadian seniors, their families and professionals who work with them, offering a one-stop shop for transitioning lifestyles. There are 3 portals, divided by province and city, offering housing information, resource information, and consulting services.
Housing has two distinct entry points: the membership-based section offers unbiased information on thousands of options across all levels of care in every province, while the sponsored section provides free access to all users with information, photos, videos and brochures, provided by our sponsored homes.
The Resource Portal offers a significant article library, and a data set of resources in each city, divided by resource type. Examples of resources in your area are real estate, Junk Removal, Consulting Services, Downsizers, Financing and Reverse Mortgages, Home Health Care Agencies and Lawyer Services, to name a few. As resources are added, they become accessible at no charge to all of our users.
The Consulting Portal also offers a couple of options to our users. For those who know that they, or their loved one, needs to relocate to a seniors’ residence, our Discover 3 Program might be a perfect option. Simply complete an online form and one of our consultants will assess your needs and provide you with the best three options available to meet your specific requirements. A small fee for this service applies. This is a huge timesaver and a great resource if you do not know which homes are available to meet your needs in the community of your choice.
Alternately, for those not knowing where to begin, or requiring assistance with issues such as having a difficult conversation with a loved one, retirement home search and transition, empty next planning, dementia programs, cohabitation of seniors and their families, leaseback programs, real estate sales, coping with aging parents, financial review and preservation, health care navigation or advocacy, grey divorce, respite solutions and other issues, our team of consultants are able to assist and can offer different service packages based on our needs assessment after a FREE 1 hour conversation. Pricing is reasonable, and our services are client-centred and uniquely crafted for your specific situation.

- How to select the right retirement home: Choosing the right home for yourself or an elder loved one can be an overwhelming task and should not be a decision made without much research and significant information. You want to know that you or your loved one will be happy there, will get all of their needs met, and will not have to move multiple times as their health changes.
- Before beginning, you must know and understand their care needs, finances, wants, and timeline for relocation. You will need to research available options carefully, ensuring that you are able to answer the most important questions on your/their mind about moving and the new residence. If you can, go on a tour, visit more than once at different times of day, try the food, consider a trial stay if the home allows it, and talk to residents and their family members - they are your best ambassadors and can tell you if the home is a place they enjoy living in, and if there have been any issues for them since they moved in. Listen to staff/resident interactions, observe the environment inside the home, and be aware of negative and positive aromas throughout the building. Consider downloading our Visiting Tips e-publication which will give you a ready made questionnaire of everything important to ask, and observe, when searching for, and touring, retirement residences or long-term care homes.
- Our Care Planning Workbook is a valuable tool for any caregiver of a senior. This 40 page document will assist you in ensuring that you have all the necessary information about your loved one should you need to assist with decision making, medical appointments, financial meetings, etc. This document can be filled out by hand, or on your computer, where it can be edited and resaved as needed. It will save you time, and unnecessary stress and anxiety by ensuring that you have all necessary information at your fingertips, when you are called on to make, or assist with, decisions for your loved one.
